Research Support Grant

The UC DIGSSS program recognizes that the development of a research area is critical to the academic persistence and degree attainment of students seeking a doctoral degree and therefore, makes available funds to facilitate the research aspirations of social science graduate students. Research support grant funds may be used to cover travel expenses to conduct research, equipment expenses, and software.

Research Support Grants up to $500 dollars are available. Students are eligible to receive this award once per academic year. Awards are disbursed on a competitive basis and are not guaranteed.

Requests for funding must include supporting documentation such as human subjects approval and be submitted at least 30 days prior to conducting actual research.

For more information about funding, eligibility, and how to apply, contact Mary F. York, UC DIGSSS Graduate Diversity Coordinator at myork@ltsc.ucsb.edu or (805) 893-4069.
