Graduate Fellowships

Fellowships are an important avenue for graduate students to gain independent teaching experience, complete their dissertation and assess institutional culture. Depending on the fellowship, funds may be used for dissertation improvement or fund a postdoctoral fellowship, which can be a viable way of entering the professoriate.

Below are several fellowships for social science doctoral candidates. To speak to a Graduate Funding Peer Advisorabout fellowships, email fundingpeer@graddiv.ucsb.edu.
