Dr. Pei-te Lien awarded Social Science Book Prize by the Association for Asian American Studies

The Association for Asian American Studies has awarded Dr. Pei-te Lien of the political science department at UCSB with the Social Sciences Book Prize for Contesting the Last Frontier: Race, Gender, Ethnicity, and Political Representation of Asian Americans by Pei-te Lien and Nicole Filler. This book, featuring both qualitative and quantitative data such as an original dataset of Asian Pacific Americans' electoral participation in the past 70 years, and in-depth interviews with elected officials and campaign leaders, presents an unprecedented wealth of information about the growing presence and contributions of Asian Pacific Americans in US politics from the 1920s to the present.
