The Division of Social Sciences Development team welcomes Rocio Torres and Melissa Gough as new Directors of Development!
 
 
Melissa Gough received her B.A. with highest honors from UCSB in Organizational Psychology. She has had extensive success as a financial services industry professional with 20+ years at firms such as Union Bank, Morgan Stanley, First Republic Bank and Bank of America. She has significant experience with estate and financial planning within her long tenure in the Santa Barbara community. Melissa has strong non-profit leadership experience with local nonprofits such as United Boys & GIrls Clubs of Santa Barbara County and The Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara where she chairs its Endowment Fund and Finance Committee. She also serves on the Board of La Cumbre Country Club as its Finance Chair and has been a member of the UCSB Planned Giving Advisors Council.
 
Rocio Torres received her B.A. from UC Santa Barbara in Dramatic Art and Spanish. Following graduation, Rocio worked for a post-production company in West Hollywood assisting with DVD special features and large scale events. She returned to Santa Barbara and began her career at UCSB in 2007 managing the Regional Programs and Constituent Groups at the Alumni Association. After 8 years, she transitioned into Development serving as Director of Development for the Regional Giving team.  Her outreach and fundraising strategies were focused in Boston, New York, Washington, DC and Orange County.  She is now thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as a Director of Development for the Division of Social Sciences, as of May 1st.
