Congratulations to Political Science professor Amit Ahuja for being awarded the New India Foundation book prize for 2020!

Chosen from a pool of over 100 books, Political Science professor Amit Ahuja is awarded the New India Foundation book prize for 2020, India’s most prestigious nonfiction book award for his book “Mobilizing the Marginalized: Ethnic Parties Without Ethnic Movements”, published by Oxford University Press in 2019. He will be given the prize in a virtual presentation at the Bangalore Literature Festival on December 12.

The jury for the prize was made up of some of India’s most eminent academics, public intellectuals, entrepreneurs and philanthropists. The jury has awarded this year’s prize to two books, and he will be sharing the award with Jairam Ramesh, a public intellectual, former cabinet member in the Indian government, and a current parliamentarian.
