Javiera Barandiaran (Global Studies) was invited by the Rockefeller Foundation to be a Bellagio Center resident in 2024, to work on her book on lithium, resource nationalism and climate change in Chile and the U.S.
Charmaine Chua (Global Studies) was named a 2023 Freedom Scholar by the Marguerite Casey Foundation in recognition of movement leaders who participate in academia with a demonstrated commitment to supporting social movements. Chua was also named the AY 2023-2024 recipient of the Harold J. Plous Memorial Award.
Olivier Deschenes (Economics) won the Hicks-Tinbergen Medal for his paper coauthored with Stephen Jarvis and Akshaya Jha The Private and External Costs of Germany's Nuclear Phase-Out.
