Bio

Charles J. Burdick is a specialist in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector, with extensive executive and non-executive experience dealing with evolving technologies, corporate restructurings, and financial issues. He currently focuses on corporate governance and board advisory positions for both public and privately held companies.

Charles has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications and media sector, with a successful career as a CFO, CEO, and Chairman of multiple companies. From 2006-2013, he served as Chairman and then CEO of Comverse Technology. In 2005, Charles was CEO of HIT Entertainment, now a subset of Mattel. From 1996-2004, he served as both CFO and CEO for Telewest Communications, the predecessor to Virgin Media, providing advanced telecommunications services to over two million UK consumers and businesses.

Charles has had additional executive roles and international postings with diverse companies such as Getty Oil, Carnation, Nestle, TimeWarner, USWest, and MediaOne. Charles has previously served on the public boards of Comverse Technology, CTC Media, Transcom SA, OXL Pie, Bally Fitness, Verint Systems, and private Boards ofVirginConnect Russia, OrionTelecom Serbia, TurkNet, Maykor Russia as well as Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander, UK.

Charles earned his B.A. in Economics from UC Santa Barbara in 1973 and played on UCSB's intercollegiate men's volleyball team for three years. He also holds an MBA in Finance from UCLA in 1977 and is currently on their Media and Sports Management Advisory Board (MEMES).
