UCSB Receives the Cedric J. Robinson and Elizabeth P. Robinson Archive

The UCSB Library has acquired the Cedric J. and Elizabeth P. Robinson Archive, a collection of research and teaching papers, ephemera and digital materials related to the careers of the Robinsons, renowned for their seminal scholarship and activism that had wide-ranging influence at UC Santa Barbara, in academia, and across many public arenas. The archive was donated by Elizabeth P. Robinson and their daughter, Najda Ife Robinson-Mayer.

The Association for Asian American Studies has awarded Dr. Pei-te Lien of the political science department at UCSB with the Social Sciences Book Prize for Contesting the Last Frontier: Race, Gender, Ethnicity, and Political Representation of Asian Americans by Pei-te Lien and Nicole Filler.

Black Studies Department Chair and Professor Omise'eke Natasha Tinsley's The Color Pynk: Black Femme Art for Survival (University of Texas Press, 2022), wins the 2023 John Leo & Dana Heller Award for Best Single Work, Anthology, Multi-Authored, or Edited Book in LGBTQ Studies, Popular and American Culture Association (PACA) / Popular Culture Association (PCA). The Color Pynk is a passionate exploration of Black femme poetics of survival.
